Shadows and (in)soles

I looked out of the backdoor in the late afternoon and found myself wondering exactly when I'd painted one of the garden chairs in a chequerboard pattern. It was inky shadows cast from the back of a neighbouring chair. The extra is an insole pattern and two pieces of cut fabric, which really didn't look insole-like in the least. As a dressmaker I'm incapable of walking past a paper pattern, and it's not as if you see paper pattern pieces on the pavement that often. One for my "Lost objects" series I think.
