Tea-time for little ones
T has bought a handful of calves who have been taken away from their dairy mothers. He continues to feed them warm milk from milk powder twice a day and will do so until they are a good six weeks old. The milk is poured into separate compartments and the calves suck the rubber teats protruding from the other side. So much easier than buckets of milk and ones fingers and it means a whole bunch of them can be kept in the same pen. They also have calf pellets and a little hay to nibble and get used to, and of course fresh water at all times.
Thanks to those who have said they have missed my farming blips but it was so nice for us to have a break and get away!
