Brave
Today it was not raining and although the grass was wet, first thing, my husband decided that it was time to mow the lawns, including the newly sown grass in the orchard. There were a lot of weeds, mainly stinging nettles and one other weed whose name I do not know, springing from the ‘new’ soil as well as the grass. After mowing it is clear that there are still some bare patches, but it is now forty-eight days since the seed was sown and with another few cuts it will look as it did before it was ruined.
During the morning, while my husband cut the grass I did the housework, vacuuming all the rooms and washing the tiled floors and the conservatory, although the latter does not look much better as it still has black protective covering on it until the builders have finished. This afternoon I did the month end finances and my husband fitted a new step between the dining room and the conservatory. The rest of the grass cutting will probably have to wait until another day.
Today’s picture is of a pink rose, which has fought its way thought some rubbish left in the garden by the builders. This flower is growing about fifteen centimetres from the ground, in amongst rubbish, weeds and stinging nettles.
After much deliberation yesterday I decided on the Pinot Grigio.
