Magical woodland grasses

Areas of woodland at the nature reserve that were thinned a couple of years ago are now chest high in beautiful grasses. Walking through these areas is like moving through a gold-green mist that is hugging the ground. I couldn't resist moving my hands and arms through the clouds of delicate spikelets, just as I would do through fine sand or running water.
