Horse and Cart Ride

Saturday afternoon - just the time to go exploring by horse and cart.  The little chestnut mare with foal at foot, had a change from the usual sacks of flour to bring back to the village from the mill.  Today she had 10 passengers sitting on wooden planks, tightly packed into the back setting off on a mystery tour.  A couple of volunteers took to the reins and drove us the whole way, breaking into a canter at times and stopping here at the lakeside to stretch our legs and give the horses a chance to grab a grassy snack.
We rode through woodland, apple orchards, open countryside and sunflower fields as well as the village tracks and roads where the people of Saptebani were amused to see this crazy group of volunteers being tourists in their everyday form of transport.  Lovely fun!
