The long way round...

A lot of rain last night, not what we wanted. The grass I cut yesterday is soaking wet. Baled 4 bales just to feed the weaned calves and that was leaving tracks  so had to leave the rest.
Like wise, the ground we worked yesterday ready to sow the forage rape is wringing.
Spent the afternoon sorting and greasing things. The loader tractor needed a new ball end on the steering ram, which involved big spanners and a heavy hammer (and a bit of swearing).
Then greased up the baler ready for when it stops raining. On the bright side, 507 has now decided that she maybe likes her twinned on calf a bit,as she let it suck tonight.
We went out to friends tonight for a take away. Haven't seen them for a while. They are pig farmers, and sounds like pig prices are as bad as lamb prices. A few beers later and things( and the smell of pigs) weren't quite so bad!
This sign shows cyclists that if they go left and follow the cycle route Edinburgh is 22 miles away. What it doesn't mention is that if you go right,it is only 12 miles ! Just goes to show, don't believe everything you read !
