Dancing in the dark
Juliet (her real name) was getting ready to go out with her Romeo. She had been seeing him for three months - ever since he came North to work on the rigs. She had a suspicion that he was planning something special for this evening and she had bought a new, full-skirted dress. She turned down the lights and danced a few experimental steps, smiling at the way the dress swirled around her legs.
Romeo (not his real name) was also getting ready. He checked his reflection in the brightly lit bathroom mirror. He knew that Juliet was the right one. He had been wrong in the past but, this time, he was sure. And he was going to propose to her. Unfortunately, he would also have to bring up the previously unmentioned evidence of the time he had been wrong. The wife he had left down south three months ago.
Meanwhile, still in the dark, Juliet danced.
