First Sunday

Yes, it's the first Sunday of the month, and in Romsey town that means Farmers' Market.
Wouldn't miss it for the world when I am at home that weekend. I always go for the freshly laid free range eggs, and as followers of my Blipfotos will know, I have a passion for winkles - my first Sunday treat!
This week though the accent was on Isle of Wight grown tomatoes and garlic, both popular produce from the Island.
I have grown my own tomatoes in past years, both in a greenhouse and outdoors with varying degrees of success and I have always felt it a shame that my own tomatoes come into their own just as tomatoes are at their most plentiful, and therefore the cheapest, in the shops.
The Island tomatoes are always tasty and have plenty of flavour and that's something often missing from shop bought tomatoes.
So, like my eggs, I also enjoy tomatoes so much more from the farmers' market stall.
Put the two together with a freshly baked baguette (also from the market) and I'm in a foodie's heaven!
