PURE MAGIC...

... I've loved the war pipes since I first heard them as a little boy in Gretna Green on the way to Orkney!

1962 on SS Nevasa (troopship) as a third mate we'd picked up the 2nd Para's in Cyprus & we arrived in Malta at 6 am & as soon as we'd tied up, a Black Watch pipe band marched down in between the ship & the warehouses.

Everybody on board awoke & leaned over the port side till the ship took on a list...

Pure magic!!
