Hugs

A time when a hug with your granddad and your favourite cuddly toy will work wonders!

A bit of a fraught start to the day with the little Tykes! I was up at something around 5.30am to help occupy The Grandchildren. Unfortunately, we hadn't been to see them since June and they were a bit timid. By 7.30am Daniel was getting very fractious and when his mum asked me to look after Emily she got extremely upset.

There was only one thing to do: wake up Granddad! Although she will have nothing to do with me, she remembers him and loves being with him.

This is them! The tears have stopped but she looks at me warily over her bunny. The bunny was given to her when she was born by a blipper and is her favourite toy. She calls it Baby.

The afternoon was great fun! The kids had a huge paddling pool which was put on the new patio and filled with the handy, outdoor hot and cold taps.

Evening was very good, too. A great roast salmon. meal S makes followed by 25 rounds of whist. Forgot to mention plentiful supplies of Prosecco  and Bombay Sapphire.

Did you know Prosecco will be in short supply due to increase in demand and a poor grape harvest last year? Annie introduced me to it and it is very easy to drink!
