Bullace and mirabelle picking!
This evening I walked a mile or so to a small stand of wild plum trees a friend told me about earlier this year. Bullaces are small plums that come in a variety of different colours but are the smaller red ones here, whereas the bigger yellow fruits are mirabelle plums. They taste very similar to each other and are delicious.
The additional photos:
1; The beautiful bark of a London plane tree in the evening sun, and;
2; This is a stick another friend recommended I take to help me reach more plums (you have to lean over a bridge to reach them) and the head is carved from an antler. Useful in hooking branches and bringing them closer for picking. 'He' took a 'selfie' of himself on our way back... with MY camera!
