Printing your own money

All the banks on the Isle of Man used to have their own bank notes which we exchanged every day at the local clearing in a coffee house.i.e. All the Martins Bank ones paid into Lloyds yesterday, exchanged for all the Lloyds ones paid into Martins and so on.When our Lloyds notes became grubby,we took them down to the cellar in Douglas and burnt them in the central heating furnace. The Manager had to be present to ensure this was done!
I still have a few good ones to remind me of the days when this once great bank didn't have to refund £14 billion in missold insurance!
