We departed Oban in torrential rain and arrived in the Cairngorms in beautiful sunshine and warmth :-)

We stopped off at the Osprey Centre at Loch Garten and was lucky to see both the male and female resident osprey. He is in extras heavily cropped and a long way off). Unfortunately a stray male osprey came on the scene this year and took over the nest for enough days to have pushed out the 3 eggs. The resident male then fought his way back into favour and the pair are back together again but unfortunately no family this year.

The blip was taken in the hotel garden from the car park as we arrived. I have a feeling I will be taking lots of red squirrels in the next 2 days.
