Wingspan

Lynn and I spent the day in Rotorua...photography high on the agenda as expected! Managed lunch and the hairdressers as well.

Went to Wingspan this afternoon, a place I always enjoy as does Lynn. It is a rescue centre for our native falcons, where falconers have trained the birds and every afternoon they are excerised and fed, it is such a wonderful opportunity to see our native falcons flying in the wild. Wingspan is a charitable trust and runs on a budget, the only money coming from visitors. It really is well worth a visit if you are in Rotorua.

Many attempts at trying to catch them in flight....very difficult and today the light wasn't very good so hard to get enough speed, needed quite a high ISO. Also in the extras is one feeding.

Wandered around Kuirau Park this morning, a thermal area in town, always a great place for photos with the steam, mist and dead trees. One of the shots in the extras.

Must go and feed my visitor!
