Meet On The Ledge!!

I spent a lovely afternoon in the company of Mr CBLinks
We went to Troup Head where there is a large gannet colony.
Two things struck me.
Why do the birds choose to spend so much of their time on such narrow ledges?
How on earth do they not crash into each other?
We then went to Pennan and that is my extra photo today.
