HOTSPUR HOUSE
Today was a wonderful day. I got to go inside Hotspur House. Originally a 19th century cotton mill ,the Percy Brothers took it over and renamed it The Hotspur Press. It's now home to several artists who rent rooms as studios. I was fortunate as the young man you see top right asked me if I was waiting to get in. On explaining I was admiring the place and had been taking photographs ,William ,( his name ) invited me to visit the studio he shares with others. His work was exceptionally fine and detailed drawing . The atmosphere within is wonderful. How long it will stand is anyone's guess ... Rather sad that if it is destined to fall victim to very overpriced apartments that few from Manchester can afford. Or even worse more supermarkets .
