The British Memorial

Visited the British Memorial at Evere. The crypt contains the remains of 17 British officers killed during the Waterloo campaign. The huge bronze sculpture by Jacques de Lalaing was funded by public subscription launched by Queen Victoria in 1881and unveiled in August 1890. Its now known as the "forgotten" memorial, visited by comparatively few people.
