Curtains
A semi-cultural evening for the girl child and me, with a visit to the Grand Opera House to see the touring production of The Sound of Music. The girl child inherited her ticket from Mme Tepeka, whose reaction to their purchase involved the phrases "rather gouge my eyes out" and "with a rusty nail".
On the whole, it was quite a successful evening. Most of the cast were really good, and some excellent. One key member had a bit of a weak voice, which was made more apparent by everyone else being so strong. And the show was a bit long, which made the decision to add in two or three new songs a little odd.
But we both enjoyed it. As, seemingly, did everyone else in the audience. Now we have to watch the film, which, somehow, has managed to evade the girl child for the past 11 years. Annoyingly, I now have every single song from Climb Ev'ry Mountain to So Long, Farewell knocking around in my head. Just what you need at bedtime...
