Another garden shed
Yesterday I blipped about the construction of a garden shed. Not my project, it is a close neighbour who built it. So today I show my own shed. I built it two years ago. It is simpler and smaller, a metal shed built from a kit. You get a heavy flat package, like when you buy something from IKEA, and (best case!) it contains everything you need to build the thing. Plus a detailed instruction, which you had better follow carefully.
It is said that you can raise a shed like this in one day. I didn't manage that, it took at least two days. The problem is that before the construction is completed, it can be damaged by hard winds. So I carefully checked the weather forecast before I started.
These metal sheds are quite popular, probably because they are cheap and easy to build. Most people put them on the simplest possible foundation, like a treated lumber floor or a gravel bed. But we decided to put it on a concrete pad. I had help with that. It was expensive, but I feel the result was rewarding. This way it looks nice and is solid and dry inside.
