Sunflower with a visiting bee
A madly busy day today trying to get all the bits and pieces needed before we go to Cornwall tomorrow. We love the eggs we buy from the farmshop so much that I drove up to the top of the hills to buy some, and some essential vegetables too. While in the shop I couldn't resist buying a bunch of sunflowers heads that Ashley and his family grow in their fields.
I have blipped various pictures of their crops growing and particularly the sunflowers last summer. Today they are on the opposite side of the farm which I presume is to do with crop rotation. Ashley's father Jim told me how to get to the part of a particular field, as the sunflowers aren't visible from the road.
This years crop is smaller than last year, probably because of the lack of sunshine, and most of the big heads have been cut to sell in the shop. So there wasn't a huge range to film and I chose a particular sunflower rather than a wide shot of the whole field. It was very breezy and quite cloudy, almost as if it was ready to rain.
A bee decided to alight on the head in search of pollen. I tracked at it circulated all round the rim of the flower and was pleased that i caught this shot as it took off to find pastures new. I'm sure I will blip the sunflowers again as they provide such a lovely subject, especially for a sun lover like me.
