Final glimmer
It was the Middle Race of the Scottish Six Days Orienteering Event today and all three of us made costly errors.....but we are still smiling because it is such a lot of fun being here and seeing people, sharing courses, catching up on families etc etc. Tony and I came away straight after the event because we wanted to lunch at the Blue Angel Cafe in the Findhorn Foundation Community. Becky and Ed stayed to watch the World Championships Relay event.
Stepping out of the car in the Foundation was, in some respects, stepping back into the sixties! It is a place of spirituality and exceedingly eco-friendly. We didn't have long there but enjoyed our organic/fairtrade lunches in the cafe which is part of a thriving community hall which has a rich calendar of events and performances. We took a look around the Community shop and Tony found my favourite Bramble fruit wine on a shelf. We also spotted a wide range of goods from Jenny's workplace Suma. If we were holidaying here without the orienteering we would certainly be exploring further.
We spent the remainder of the afternoon watching the Relay on television. At one point we thought the GB men were in for a medal but sadly they finished in 4th place, still very creditable and the best result of the week for GB so far.
After dinner I thought I would see if the osprey was out over the bay again but bumped into club friends having a late walk along the front so I had to rush to catch this last glimmer of light going over the sea. Hopefully there will be a good sunset before we head home at the weekend.
I could just about see the seals out on a sand spit so may take a walk out there tomorrow night!
