HEDGEHOG
Early start today - off to Morrisons at 9am with my friend Jan.
Did some admin this morning and then had lunch. Neil had a day off so he stayed here all day. Nice to have some company.
Neil helped me with some chores this afternoon using some of the house removal skills which he learned in Australia. Together we moved some of the junk useful items out of the spare bedroom at the back. This junk stuff (which may come in useful one day ) was moved into a front bedroom which also contains junk more treasures which I haven't got round to sorting out.
Then we moved Neil's bed into the space left in the back bedroom. Then we moved my bed into Neil's bedroom. Then the plan was to build my new bed. ( which I have had for a few months now still in the box it was delivered in ) However we ran out of time for that. So tonight I will just sleep on the mattress on the floor.
So progress has been made. Best to get all the moving done while Neil was here.
At around 3 pm I opened the back door to take some bird food outside and I almost stepped on this little hedgehog. He/she certainly isn't nocturnal. I quickly popped back indoors and came back with some cat food for it. It just stayed around eating the food while I took a few photos. It wasn't frightened at all. Then my neighbours cat Fluffy turned up and neither Fluffy or the hedgehog were bothered by each other. So I fed Fluffy and fed the birds. My good deed for the day all done and dusted.
A few hedgehog related facts:~
* The collective noun for a group of hedgehogs is array or prickle.
* During the 1980s, "hedgehog-flavour" crisps were introduced in Britain - although the product did not contain any hedgehog.
* All hedgehogs possess the ability to roll into a tight ball. However they only roll up as a last resort - they are more likely to run away.
