Rato Mimnath
Newari Jadra is the Hindu and Budhist celebration to the rain god and ushers in the monsoon. This chariot usually rests one or two days and then moves on to another place. This happens for about two weeks before coming to rest in a place called Lagenkhel, where it stays for about a month and then finally moves to Jawalakhel for a few days.
This year is different though. There is a rule that if an earthquake happens during this time, the chariot cannot be moved for four days. Unfortunately in the last three months there have been no breaks in the earthquakes and so it has remained here, unmoving, for the entire time. It is also in the worst position as you can barely get passed it.
There is a bigger version of this chariot which this one has to follow around. That one is damaged and needs repairing before it can move on, even if the earthquakes stop.
(Apologies if I've got any of this slightly wrong)
