on the canal bus

had a pleasant and relaxing afternoon taking the 'Ware to Hertford' canal bus with some friends along the Lea river/navigation canal.  I quite liked some of the canal boats I photographed but felt that this photo summed up the tranquility. You could be in the middle of nowhere rather than not far beyond the hustle and bustle of towns.  I also had my first trip through a lock. It looked like hard work and glad I wasn't doing the driving!
