Up, Grab, Down
For some reason although the starlings are able to fly up to and hold onto the feeder, the blackbirds can't. They just can't grip hard enough,.
so it took them a while, but now they sit on the concrete wall below, launch up and grab a beakful, then fall back down and eat it. Much more labour intensive than just hanging and going for it, but they keep at it.
They do it so fast it's really hard to get a shot of them, and I have to take it through the window (with double glazing) so it's not the sharpest shot, but I liked the wing spread. Another shot in extras.
And thank you so much for all the stars and hearts for yesterday's kingfisher. Very much appreciated.
