Flower Friday - Westringia

This delightful native makes a wonderful hedging plant, which is why I'm going to grub out my English Box, and plant this as a small hedge instead.

About 20 years ago, I went through a stage where I wanted an English garden, and I did pretty well; honeysuckle, English Box, Roses, violets, rhododendrons, silver birch, camellias,  and all sorts of other delicate plants.

But now, with climate change and all, the English stuff doesn't do so well, and as I am passionately interested in native birds, bees, beetles and butterflies, it makes much more sense to grown Australian native plants.

Which reminds me - I have found a couple of U3A courses on Botany, and Australian Native Plants which I am going to do.  I'm looking forward to it.

You might want to trundle over and see the Rower's blip for today - it's his third blip birthday!!
