Today I read this -

Women keep favourite piece of clothing 'longer than they do husbands'

They keep their best garment for 12 years - a little longer than the 11.7 years that the Office for National Statistics says the average failed marriage lasts.

Maybe we love clothes more than we love men - sometimes that is the case.
But if a piece is old and worn-out then it - like a faded relationship - should be jettisoned. Some women keep clothes for sentimental reasons. It doesn't have to be that beautiful ball gown. It could be an old T-shirt that you wore on a great holiday. The average woman has more than 100 items of clothing in her wardrobe but they wear less than a third of them regularly. Their favourite item costs on average less than £50.

I've got a few years to go with these then. I've had the top for three years and the jeans for two - lucky me!
