Alpine geranium

Today's the day ....................... to be tough

I love these little erodiums or alpine geraniums that grow in the rockery with their exquisitely veined petals.  They look very delicate - but actually they're as tough as old boots.

They disappear to nothing over the winter and by the time they re-appear in the summer, they're in competition with lots of other alpines trying to take over the world.  But they always make it through, to delight us with their presence yet again .....................
