Beware of greeks bearing gifts

or in this case elderly father / father-in-law.

OH was given this can of grapefruit segments by her father and she was looking forward to them, quote "I bet they are just like the ones you get in hotels for breakfast".

That is until I pointed out the best before date on the lid (31 Dec 2005!!) and the ominous bulge in the lid of the can...

There will be a controlled explosion in the morning before safe disposal in the recycling :-)
