Stubble Stares

I really wanted to play with my new toy today but I had administrative responsibilities. :(

I stopped at Lodge Farm on the way to M&S. The harvest was in full swing. I had a nice chat with the farmer. He is quite happy with how the work is going and with the quality and the yield of his crop. The combine harvester is kicking up a dust but it's good dust he says. Sometimes the dust can indicate fungal problems. His straw goes to fuel a power station in Ely.

The deer were in the stubble well in the distance. They stopped to give me a characteristic stare before disappearing over the brow of the hill.
