Day 3 in the Big, Braw Hoose!
OMG! Our new bed and mattress are so comfortable I have to drag myself out of bed!
David was up early and off down to our old house to cut the grass and generally tidy up after our exit on Saturday. Alan wanted a lazy morning so I took the chance to clear out the utility room, putting away the last of the kitchen contents (basically stuffing things in any available cupboard space left) and getting my washing up to date. It was a lovely day so by 12 noon I had 4 lots of washing done and out, with two of them dried already! Oh the things that float my boat these days!! ;-))
David arrived back, we had lunch then he set off with Alan to explore our new town. I stayed at home and entertained the builders did a little more unpacking.
Made 2 pots of tea around 2.30pm and the workmen all piled into the kitchen to grab a cuppa and chew the fat for 5 mins. They are a great bunch, I really can't fault them. All local too so full of local gossip.
Today I was regaled with the finer details of what went wrong with the painter's recent vasectomy! (all told to me by the painter himself! ) I must have one of those overly sympathetic faces that encourages people to share the most intimate details of their lives! I did, however LOL at the bit where his wife had warned the kids not to jump on him when he got home from hospital but had forgotten to tell the family dog! Ouchy! Hahahahahahahahahahaha!
The builders cleared off at 4, David and Alan arrived back from their explorations, Alan had his dinner then settled down to watch a DVD and whilst I was upstairs doing yet more unpacking, David made dinner and this was the scene that awaited me when I came downstairs to eat. He'd even washed the hall and kitchen floors (a losing battle as the house us under a constant cloud of dust and will be till the builders clear out for good I suspect!) See, this is why I keep him! ;-))
Alan starts his new school tomorrow.....keeping everything crossed that all goes well.
