Time for thought

"Why are we looking so serious Poppy?"
"It's a very serious occasion Bud."
"Why, what do you mean?"
"Well Bud, if you look carefully at the stone we are sitting next to, you will see that a very brave dog is buried beneath it. It's his gravestone."

"What did he do that was so brave Poppy?"

"He served in the first world war, suffered hardships that we could never imagine, lived as a faithful companion for another 10 years and then was mindlessly mown down by a car."

"That should be a lesson to you Poppy, you're the one who dashes across the road after a cat, or if you see a little child who reminds you of Sophie. I don't, I'm a goof boy, holding my ball and walking sensibly."

"Goof is exactly right you're a goof."

"I'm not a goof, that was just a typo, I'm good."
