Chester FC 1 Braintree Town 0

The sun was shining and Chester won the first game of the season. What more can you ask for?

Johnny Hunt scored after four minutes but Chester never really got into top gear and made heavy weather of the victory although it was a very warm day. Braintree had plenty of the ball but didn't create many clear cut chances while the Blues hit the woodwork twice and had one cleared off the line. Nevertheless it was a satisfactory three points and better than last season when we lost 5-0 at home in the opener.

As for today's blip. Well it isn't the one I wanted to use but the photo I took at kick-off didn't come out very well at all. I seem to struggle taking pictures in very bright light with the iPhone. In the end I have used one taken after the final whistle as the players warmed down.
