Insect colour clash

I love these striking red and black bugs, Corizus hyoscyami, that are rapidly colonising the country. They were very local to the coast of southern England and Ireland just a few years ago. I first spotted them at the nature reserve (Buckinghamshire) about 5 years ago and now they've reached parts of Lancashire and Yorkshire. Good for them, brightening up our summers! However, they clearly have no colour sense; this bergamot in my garden was not the best place to show off!
