A day to remember

A wonderful day spent with Naturelover and Hillyblips and their hubbies.  We took a gazillion pictures and the hummers were the little stars of the show...although they had much competition what with Bathsheba the Spider, various swallowtails, loads of finches and woodpeckers and a raft of other things.  

I am keeping this short because it is about time to crack open a bottle of wine and catch the last light of day in the garden.  But, as promised, no hummingbird today... instead, you get a gorgeously fresh monarch who was properly stalked by the Blip-paparazzi.  I am still using that sweet little Nikkor 300 mm f/4 rental lens which is what I used for this shot.  It is a superb lens ... I am lusting after it.
