Dogs' Lives
"Dog's lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you're going to lose a dog, and there's going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can't support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion. There's such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware it comes with an unbearable price." From Dean Koontz
We have had three other dogs in our married life that we cared for before Fiona and Buttercup. I believe that God gave us animals to enjoy, protect and take care of. We have received so much joy in having pets but we also grieve deeply when their time has come. We found out several weeks ago that our girls have both have a heart condition. I do hope and pray that we have many more years with Fiona and Buttercup and while they are here we will enjoy every moment with them!
