Bernie Sanders ....

Running on the Democratic Ticket race for Presidency.  I went with friends to hear him speak last night at the University of Washington Hec Ed Pavilion and there was a capacity crowd inside of 12,000 and 3.000 more outside listening to him.  It was electric and he spoke with integrity and honesty to the major issues facing our nation and the world.  I have long respected him for his stands as Senator in Vermont and for stand he has taken on the committees he works on.

He speaks out boldly and unabashedly for a Single Payer Universal Health care system. His record on civil rights for all is impeccable .  He addresses the need for jobs to stay in our country and not be exported....for a comprehensive job corps program as a way to address crime and poverty and drug issues.....not incarceration.  He strongly addresses the need to act now on climate changes that will dramatically alter the world for our grandchildren's  lives...it's already affecting ours.  He speaks to better carbon emission controls for the big corporations who pollute the most.  He clearly speaks to the HUGE economic disparity between the super super one tenth of the rich who own and control so much power and wealth and that they DO need to pay their fair share.  He is for bringing back a strong working middle class in our nation.  He believes we should provide free public higher education as Germany does.  He is against the huge loans our children now incur to attain a higher education.  He has long been a strong advocate for Veterans benefits and abhors how we send our military off to was and bring them back and provide little medical care or benefits and is calling for that to change.  He is a decent honest American...he may not end up as the Democratic candidate as big money does not support him.....but he is showing how the little person with their individual contributions...lots and lots of people power has driven his campaign to the forefront and to be listened to now on a national stage.  I bought a "Women for Bernie" button :)
