Darth Vader!!

How lucky were we with the weather this weekend?! 24 degrees and cloudless skies.... Not that there was any time for sitting around and soaking up the sun! There was an enormous gazebo to put up, flags and fairy lights to hang, food and drink to prepare, and 75 champagne glasses to wash, by hand!!

But by 6pm, we were all in our American themed fancy dress outfits, ready to welcome the 75 guests. Sparky decided to come as Darth Vader, though he wasn't very keen on wearing the helmet! Yes, there really was a helmet for dogs!!

The party had been arranged by my friends to say farewell and good luck to their 18 year old son who has won a four year fully-funded sports scholarship to train and study at University in the U.S. He is a very talented athlete and the current hopes and expectations are that he'll be representing England in the next Commonwealth Games. It's a wonderful opportunity for him and I hope he makes the most of every moment and adventure that each new day brings...

It was a wonderful evening, full of laughter, emotional speeches and yes, Prosecco!!
