Down at the plotment

I headed down to sunny Hove for the weekend to visit Fi:

- sat on the pebbly beach eating ice cream at The Meeting Place
- saw lots of lovely artisanal things that I did not buy
- wondered at the marvellous layered knitted gigantic how-do-these-clothes-wrap outfits
- watched herring gulls at The Cricketers
- rescued a vole from Howler at the allotment
- tried to photograph bees on Fi's lavender plant using the manual focus, while the bees steadfastly flew to pieces of lavender that were out of shot

In case you're suffering cub withdrawal, there are extra pics of Skinny and White-tip Nick who were both in the garden this morning. Nick showed lightning-fast running skills in pursuit of a squirrel: 0–60 in a second from this position on the table.
