Tilikum Crossing Bridge

We walked over the brand new Tilikum Crossing Bridge today; didn't bike it, even though it was Bridge Pedal day - too many other stops to make. See more pictures at OregonLive.com. Thrilling and so Portland. Then we ditched the car close to both a MAX stop and friends' house. Rode in to the Rose Quarter (okay: the Moda Center -how boring) and joined the crowds to hear Bernie Sanders. Left feeling like he's my choice this time, but not wanting to believe our country hasn't gotten any better in all these years. I think the beauty of youth is their enthusiasm and outrage hasn't been tempered by election after election that only get worse. (Feel like I'm typing with one hand tied behind my back. Trying not to sound bitter or so negative.) Then slipped out just before the end to catch a train back to our car and a stop at J and G's (They biked to the rally and beat us back to their place.) to rehash in their cooled-off and pleasant back yard. Watched the local raccoon make its way through, stopping to eat the cat food that normally isn't there and to then come closer to see what we were eating, until G chased him off.
