Day 2 - 40 km - L'Etang Bernard - Bonneville
Today we hit the Voie Verte for the first time: a set of cycle/hiking paths that have been created, often (as here) on old railways, or beside canals. They criss cross France, and are mainly brilliant. It was deliciously flat after the previous day's hills!
Found our way to the strangest ever campsite. Set at an equestrian centre, they seemed to have decided to try and earn a few extra euros with some camping and a couple of alternatives to tents. One was a wooden elf house. It was about the size of a large shed, and inside someone had tried to create an elfin wonderland. It was just plain wierd. The other was a medieval tent, complete with a four poster bed and furs draped everywhere. I can't do them justice, and am sad I didnt take photos of the insides! I have some of the outsides though, I will put them in tomorrow's extras as I took them the next morning.
There were lots of donkeys (see extra), and horses, and maybe an ass or two, and we were thoroughly etnertained by them. It was cold again though, so we finished the day with an evening walk.
