Hawkhill Avenue (just off it, on the cycle path)
After yesterday's urban scrum, today was more green and airy, positively sylvan by comparison.
A nice cycle ride - well I say nice - I'd forgotten what a bunch if twunts use the cyclepath of a morning; loads of people tearing it up at 25mph in amongst dog walkers and pedestrians. Memorably as I'm passing a cyclist, someone was trying to pass me, too...!
After some work, picking up the lasagne for tea (Meals on 2 Wheels..!), I then wound my way from Gorgie by the canal, through the Meadows and then down Holyrood Park to Jock's Lodge.
And as I turned to head homeward I stopped to look on the cycle path at Restalrig / Lochend for sloes - looks like we might be in for a bumper harvest. The blackthorn are laden (mostly), although still very green. But give it a month or 6 weeks, and I think we're in business.
White pen on grey metal box, probably for street lighting.
And now an afternoon in Leith beckons. In the interests of parity, tomorrow's Cigs might have to be in Gorgie....
