Lavender & Poppy

We had a day out today with our U3A Garden Group. The final destination was Yorkshire Lavender which is in the Howardian Hills near Castle Howard.

Before lunch we visited Shandy Hall in the small village of Coxwold. Shandy Hall is famous for the short stories about Tristram Shandy written by a witty and eccentric parson, Laurence Sterne, from 1760 to 1767.

In the extras I have included a picture of the study in Shandy Hall, taken before we were told no photographs are allowed inside the house, and an alternative view of the lavender.
