Gaird's Loch

A perfect day at the south end of Shetland - almost all of it spent wandering around Scat Ness.

Gaird's Loch is a freshwater loch on Scat Ness - in the foreground are traditional Shetland planticrubs (enclosures giving a little bit of shelter for growing veg), in the background Quendale Bay and Fitful Head.
