Tractor Tuesday....

First job was to run the last of the weaned cows along the road to join their mates. Was running out of transport,so dug the push bike out the nettles and took off after them on it. None of your fancy lycra rubbish -boiler suit and wellies did fine!
Finished of making a shed ready for tipping barley,then down the road to check the cattle and change the battery on the electric fence.
Went to see the new neighbour who was busy ploughing a field ready to sow oilseed rape. Asked him how he liked living up here compared to down south. "The seasons are a bit later up here! " Where he comes from they are finished cutting wheat. We are about to start cutting winter barley !
Went to spread fert on the field that was sown with grass last week while it was dry enough.
As I was power washing the spreader tonight, I could hear a combine going somewhere. There is no sound more upsetting than a combine going ,when it's in a field belonging to some one else !
