Murky waters
Today’s the day ............... to go back to the beginning
We were told right from the start that house-buying and selling in England was like swimming in a shark-infested sea. There were all sorts of hidden dangers lurking in the depths, double-dealing, silver-tongued rogues out to get a good deal - and it really wasn't over until the fat lady signed on the dotted line and contracts were exchanged.
Well today, just when we thought we were almost there (contracts signed and about to be exchanged) our 'buyers' have pulled out and disappeared into the murky depths without so much as a flip of a fin. And the annoying thing is that it's all perfectly ok in this part of the country. Apparently 1 in 3 of house-buying/selling transactions end in failure - so obviously we are not alone in having this sort of time-wasting experience.
We may just need a while to re-group and gather up enough energy to start all over again ......................
