Nanook- rescue husky

Nanook  escaped death by hours because
Steven Couper drove from Scotland to Manchester,
a distance of more than two hundred miles, to rescue her.

For Steven belongs to Saints Sledge an online voluntary charity devoted to rescuing huskies and other large working dogs.

It’s a familiar story he says, of people buying these dogs as pets ignoring the fact that they are in fact working animals needing lots of exercise and company.

Once Nanook arrived in Scotland though  his family fell in love with her  and she fitted in so well with all their other dogs and cats  that they decided to keep her.

I met her this afternoon when I called on Steven who has been framing my mud paintings for next month’s exhibition.

And  Nanook was snoozing in front of a doggy picture in his gallery.
