Sanderlings
I went down to South Ron and walked over to Eastside and Newark Bay. On the beach was a flock of about seventy sanderling which must have arrived very recently from their breeding grounds in the high Arctic . They are in their summer plumage, which is very different from their winter one. Also about: sand martins, ringed plovers, dunlin, tysties, bonxies, a single peregrine.
