Gemma

I thought I posted this on the day it was taken, but it didn't upload somehow. Anway, this is Gemma, one of our two whippets. We got her at 10 months old from an add in the paper and found she was scared of anything sudden, and lots of other things. She is now 10 years old and has settled down over the years, but a few things still spook her, like noisy traffic and the sound of bouncing balls. But she is the gentlest creature you could ever meet and very affectionate. She loves a bone, as you can see.
She has a partner, Jack, a younger man and ever so cool and relaxed -- her opposite. You will meet him soon, no doubt. He weasels his way into everything. We seldom hear a cross word, and their affection for one another is quite beautiful. They both have a sense of fun, and their antics give us lots of laughs.
