My Germans learnt how to remember the order of the colours of the rainbow this morning, they were slightly bemused* as to why one needs to know that red comes first and indigo** last but one. Although German school kids all know various mnemonics for the points of a compass, the rainbow is sadly lacking one.

This evening Mr K and I whipped along to the closest Jaguar dealership to drool over the new XF & then watched them try and fail to drive the 90+K car off its podium - it ended up wedged between the wooden ramps and the metal podium, almost, but not quite balancing on its bumper...

* but as we then went on to go over the passive tense (again) it didn't really matter.
** which led onto a 'discussion' as to what shade of blue/purple indigio is.
